If you’re visiting or have recently committed your life to Jesus, this is for you!

We want to warmly welcome you to our church family and take the time to share our vision, mission, values, and strategy. The First Step session is your introduction to Word and Life. Led by our senior pastors, this informal gathering creates a relaxed space for you to hear directly from our presiding pastor and meet key leaders. You’ll also connect with the generational pastor for your age group, ensuring you will have all the support and encouragement from the very start.

This session is more than an orientation – it’s an invitation to partner with us as we strive to live out our vision and mission. Over coffee and fellowship, you’ll learn how the steps of our growth path can add value to your life and empower you to grow in your faith. Join us to discover how you can GROW, CONNECT, SERVE and SHARE at Word and Life.

Step 2: Walking The Way

Learn the basics of living as a follower of Christ.

Walking The Way is a 3-week course designed to equip you with the foundational truths of the Christian faith. Anchored in John 14:6, where Jesus declares, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” this course guides you through topics essential to growing in your relationship with God. We explore practical subjects such as how to read and understand the Bible, how to pray, and what we believe about baptism, worship, and the Holy Spirit.

Our teaching is firmly rooted in scripture The course combines lecture-based teaching with interactive elements, ensuring a balanced and engaging experience. Through this journey, you’ll gain the tools to live out your faith with confidence. Walking The Way is an opportunity to lay a solid foundation for a fulfilling Christian life.

Step 3: Finding the way

Discover Your Gifts – God has given you unique spiritual gifts—find out what they are!

Showing The Way is evangelism focused equipping sessions. In the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19, Jesus calls us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel,” and this step equips you to fulfil that calling. You’ll learn how to share the good news of Jesus Christ in a way that is clear, compassionate, and rooted in scripture.

Through interactive teaching and practical guidance, we cover key topics such as God’s original plan for humanity, Christ’s role as our Redeemer, and foundational scriptures like John 3:16 and Acts 1:8. You’ll also gain tools to overcome fears and hesitations, enabling you to share your faith with confidence. This course prepares you to SHARE the story of Jesus Christ to others as part of your daily life.

Step 5: Leading the way

Stepping into Leadership – Grow as a leader through accredited courses.

For those with a heart for ministry and a desire to live out their faith through leadership. At Word and Life, we equip you to lead with confidence in various ministry roles, including CONNECT groups, mentoring, hospital visits, and caring for those in need. Our training focuses on practical ministry opportunities where you can provide prayerful support, encouragement, and acts of love.

Guided by biblical principles we find in Ephesians 4:12, this step offers mentorship and hands-on experiences to help you grow as a servant leader. Whether you’re organising or leading a CONNECT group or outreach events, you’ll find support, encouragement, and fellowship within our ministry teams. Discover how you can make a meaningful impact through leadership and service.

Step 6: Church Planting

Building New Communities of faith – for those called to start and grow new churches

Our main goal is to grow the body of Christ by planting new churches. This is your opportunity to play an active role in advancing the Kingdom of God. This step involves establishing churches throughout South Africa and Africa to bring salvation and hope to communities. It aligns with the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19.

Through mentorship, training, and support, we aim to equip future church planters with the tools they need to lead thriving congregations.

Step 7: Church Network

Expanding the Kingdom that connects and supports churches

Members of the network enjoy leadership development opportunities, regular fellowship meetings, and continuous pastoral training. With a focus on accountability, discipleship, and nation-building, the Word and Life Network empowers its members to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
