a) Who has ever changed lanes and not seen a vehicle in the blind spot? What happened? b) Why do “Blind Spots” arise in our lives?

Talk in your Connect Group about the following: The Impact of Spiritual Blind Spots:Just like in traffic, spiritual blind spots are those areas in our lives that we cannot see for ourselves.
• Blind Spots Create a False Sense of Security (The Danger): We read in Matt 24:37,39 that people were completely unaware of the danger; they did not realize what was really going on.
• Blind Spots Are Driven by the Enemy (The Origin): Our blind spots are not always just ignorance. 2 Cor 4:4 explains that the god of this world blinds people’s minds. He wants to prevent us from seeing the light and the truth (the gospel).
• Blind Spots Cause Fear and Misfocus (The Consequence): If we only look at the visible things, we easily become panicked or caught up in the temporary (2 Cor 4:18).
How to Overcome Blind Spots in Our Decisions: If we are blind to reality, how do we make good decisions? Scripture gives us clear tools to remove these blind spots:
• Pray for Spiritual Sight: Like Elisha in 2 Kings 6:17, we must pray: “Lord, open our eyes that we may see!” We must realize that we need God to break open what is hidden for us.
• Sharpen Your Spiritual Hearing: It does not help that our eyes are open but our ears are closed. Jesus warns: “He who has ears, let him hear!” (Matt. 13:9). Obedience begins with being attentive to God’s voice.
• Let the Holy Spirit be your GPS: Instead of walking on a path that seems right to us, we must allow the Spirit to lead us.
• Choose an Eternal Perspective: By fixing our eyes on the unseen and the eternal (2 Cor. 4:18), the world’s deception loses its hold on our decisions. Blind spots in our lives cause us to make decisions based on limited, worldly, and misleading information. True, life-giving decisions are made when we intentionally allow the Holy Spirit to remove our blindness, so that we can see and follow God’s complete truth beyond our own understanding.
