Week 1: 7-13 June 2020 Renew and Be….
Everything is New. We are all Novus’s at this present moment. The earth has been here before, but this is our first time. How do we start over, from the beginning? We all need to be transformed. In this series we are going to look at eight very important Human-, Family- and Church topics, which will help us to start over and be transformed.
“Transformation is more than just putting information in your head. It’s about living out what God is working in you.” Rick Warren
Just Be-“We are human beings, not human doings, and we’re at our best when we’re becoming” Mike Moore
Pray: Open in prayer.
Read: Psalm 46:10 Amplified-“Be… still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 Message-“Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.”
Romans 12:2-New King James “…And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Share: Tell the story of King Hezekiah and how the city of Jerusalem was surrounded by the enemy. King Hezekiah sought God’s plan and will. God answered Hezekiah and the battle was won without Israel drawing one sword (2 Chronicles 32). Just like king Hezekiah we are surrounded by an enemy and we also need to know God’s will and plan for our lives. Rom 12:2 says that our minds need to be transformed. We have to think differently today. We need different thoughts to survive in our world today. The only way we can transform our mind, is to seek God’s will and plan for us. When we do this we can become the person that survives this time and age.
Ask: 1. King Hezekiah said that he first want to seek the will and plan of God. How can we seek God’s will and plan for our lives today? 2. What spiritual practices can help us to find God’s will and plan for our lives? 3. What new skill can you learn?
Pray: Pray for one another
