Renew and Be Emotional Healthy
“Transformation is more than just putting information in your head. It’s about living out what God is working in you.” Rick Warren
Just Be-“We are human beings, not human doings, and we’re at our best when we’re becoming” Mike Moore
We serve an emotional God; a God that cries and laughs with us, a God that gets angry but refuse to let His anger turn to sin. We know the saying: “Hurt people, hurt people!” It’s when we don’t manage our emotions that we find ourselves in a place where our emotions manage us. Today we want to focus on how we can BE more Emotionally Healthy.
Psalm 46:10-“Be… still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God.”
Romans 12:2-“…And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Pray : Open in prayer.
Read : ISAIAH 61:1 (LUKE 10:18) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me; he has sent me to preach glad tidings to the poor, to heal the broken in heart, to proclaim liberty to the captives;” – Brenton Bible Translation
Share: It is very important to understand why God gave us emotions. Our emotions teach us who we really are and can lead us to a closer relationship with God. It is your own decision whether you will be led by your emotions or learn from them. The way we portray our emotions must be infused with prayer and understanding. It is also important to rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit to understand your emotions. We have to be able to facilitate what is happening with us emotionally when we find ourselves in an emotionally charged situation. Use the following three words:
- UNDERSTAND – Where these emotions come from
- IDENTIFY – Their specific origins
- CHANGE – Their effects on my life
- Why is it so difficult to manage our emotions?
- What is some practical things that you can do this week to start looking differently at your emotional response to people and situations?
- With who do you need to speak this week about your emotional responses?
